Leadership Challenge 2009

Eagle Fern Camp sponsors a Leadership Conference each Spring, on the first weekend of March. It is a one day conference to challenge and train leaders in Church Ministry – Elders, Pastors, Ministry Team Leaders, and Emerging leaders. We try to get a keynote speaker that has a passion and a message that will be of great benefit to leaders. This year we have John Lynch as our keynote Speaker. John is with Leadership Catalyst, out of Phoenix Arizona. He is a co-author of the book, True Faced. He speaks around the country to Christian leaders and ministry training conferences. His topic this year will come out of True Faced :
  • The Two Roads – Pleasing God or Trusting God
  • Building a Grace Environment

His afternoon discussion session will deal with the topic of grace as the process of gaining permission and offering protection to minister into someone’s life. It is the theme of his newest book, a novel to be released in mid 2009. This session will be especially good for leaders who minister in any form of small groups – home groups, ministry teams, elder boards.

Emerging leaders (up to about age 35), are invited to stay overnight Saturday for a closing time of worship on Sunday morning along with one last session with John Lynch just for your special encouragement and direction. There is no additional cost for overnight.

The cost of the Leadership Challenge is $55 per person, or $85 per couple. This includes three meals on Saturday, study notes for John Lynch’s sessions, and a discount price to purchase his book, True Faced, for just $5.00.

We really hope that you can make plans to attend, to be blessed, encouraged, and empowered.

The Leadership Challenge is March 6 - 7. Click here for the Leadership Challenge Form to complete and mail in to camp.

Men's Retreat 2008

How often do you make it a point to get away with some men in your church or in your circle of friends? Yeah, maybe for hunting, fishing, or golfing. But how about encouraging each other to seek after a deeper relationship with God and family? Or to worship and sing, to study God's word, and spend some quiet time with Him. The speaker at the Men's Retreat '08 is Dr. Wayne Strickland from Multnomah Bible College. He is also co-founder of Clear Creek Community Church in Gresham. Saturday afternoon activities include a golf tournament, sports tournaments, and the EFC challenge course. The food is absolutely superb, too. If you have a High School age son plan to bring him along, too. The cost is only $55 for the entire weekend, or $85 for father-son combination

The Men's Retreat is May 16 - 18. A registration form will be available soon.

Intermediate Camp 2008

Since Intermediate Camp is generally the first overnight camping encounter for these
young campers, we have trained our staff to help your child adapt to the many new
experiences they will have during the week. They will arrive Sunday evening to meet
their counselors and the other kids in their cabin before participating in activities
that will orient them to each other and to the camp grounds.

At this age, much of their time will be spent with their cabin mates so that they will be able to discover the fun in playing, learning, and cooperating together. Each day will be filled with a variety of enjoyable activities such as outdoor group games, skits, singing around a campfire, and supervised free time. During this free time, they will have a chance to use the slip and slide, play in the sand by the creek, use the climbing wall, create something special in the craft room, discover wonders in God’s creation on a guided hike, or just laugh with their friends on the playground. Each morning and evening will be a special time to sing together and listen to wonderful stories from the Bible. Our hope is that when your child goes home at the end
of the week, they will have much to tell you about what they did and be
excited about coming back next year!

Girls Camp 2008

Faith, Friendship and Fun

Eagle Fern Girls Camp 2008 will have something for everyone. From the time
the girls get up in the morning until they crash into their bunks at night,
each day will be filled with faith, friends and fun.

Morning Chapel starts with great music. Morning chapel will highlight our life of faith in Jesus, our best Friend. At evening chapel meet great women of faith who changed their world.

All camp activities include field games, water games, counselor dress-up, campfire times,
movie night and more. Skill sessions give the girls the chance to meet other campers
and try new or favorite pastimes such as special crafts, challenge course, nature
exploration and archery. During free time, the field and play equipment are open
to all. Swimming or water play is a great favorite, as is the climbing wall.
Whether you want to play hard or just relax, free time offers so many choices.

Come to camp with old friends or come and meet new ones. You’ll probably do both!

Girls Camp is for junior age girls going into grades 5-6. Girls Camp is the week of July 13th-19th, and the cost is $210. Click here if you would like to register for Girls Camp.

Boys Camp 2008

If any one of our summer camps fit the description, "more fun than a barrel full of monkeys", it would have to be Boys Camp. To see the camp full of 5th and 6th grade boys is like seeing the energy level of a kennel full of puppies. They thoroughly enjoy every program activity, every square inch of the camp. Skill sessions and cabin activities are specially designed for their enjoyment and participation such as climbing wall, archery, BB guns, launching the trebuchet and team-building activities. Large group activities are included each day, such as water games, relays, and hikes. Horse back riding is an afternoon option one afternoon during the week too. Playing in the creek and the swimming hole is perhaps the favorite activity every afternoon. Special features are scheduled during the week, too - sometimes a magician, the reptile man or "Mountain Man" Jerry with his black powder guns

The chapel times and cabin discussions are great opportunities to talk with the boys about God's love, His design in this world and in their lives. As they see how much the staff cares about them they see modeled the love of God for them as well. Our hope for you as parents is that this week of camp will be one of many building blocks in their physical, emotional and spiritual growth.

Boys Camp is for Boys going into grades 5-6. Boys Camp is the week of August 10th-16th, and the cost is $210. Click here if you would like to register for Boys Camp.
