Eagle Fern Camp’s Annual Meeting is coming up soon: Saturday, January 21st at Eastgate Bible Chapel (114th & Stark) at 6pm. We will start off the evening with a pizza dinner. There will be soda and Sobes to drink with water and coffee available, too. We will have presentations that include safety, program, guest services, finances and chapel up dates. There are changes in the up coming 2012 summer schedule which will be highlighted as well as testimonies from counselors and campers.
If you have long-time connections with Eagle Fern Camp, we would love to have your help. We will have old photos laid out in the fireside room that we would like your help identifying those pictured. Also if you were a camper this past year and come to the meeting you will have your choice of candy from the Eagle Fern store (with your parent's permission). No, Jim Hislop, coming to the Spring Mountain retreat at Eagle Fern does not qualify you as a camper. So, come young and old, and have a wonderful evening of recounting God’s faithfulness!
Nurse Update

We are praying and searching for a nurse this summer! We need a nurse/EMT for Sunday night through Wednesday morning during Jr High Boys Camp (August 7-13). A current Oregon Nursing License, current Oregon EMT-1, or current Paramedic certification is required. Garage Sale

Camp’s garage sale is coming up soon! It’s a great time to do some spring cleaning. Drop your items off Wednesday and Thursday, April 6-7, from 9am-6:30pm at Eastgate (114th and Stark). Friday 9am-4pm and Saturday 9am-2pm are the sale days. We have plants, trees and everything imaginable!
If you need help getting items to Eastgate, call the office 503-630-4978. If you can help out any of these days please contact Patti Elliot at 971-409-6121, even if it’s providing childcare for others. It’s really a blast! All proceeds help kids come to camp who can’t afford to otherwise. This year I want to exceed our previous record of $8,300.
Meet Our New Horse Camp Director!

Director
Carla Calhoun will be our new Horse Camp Director starting this summer! She has been involved with our horse program and as a camp counselor for several years. Her children (all four of them!) have been coming to Eagle Fern camp for 15 years. Her husband, Dave, has been Camp Nurse for our summer programs and will be supporting her in the new endeavor. They have five horses of their own. Carla has been a Horse 4H leader for 10 years, and will be a certified CHA instructor by this summer. She completed the Multnomah graduate certificate program, and received a Master's Degree in Education from George Fox. She is currently a teacher at Alliance Charter Academy in Oregon City. We are excited to have Carla directing our Horse Camps this year, especially since she worked so hard to accommodate our horse camps around a schedule that includes her son David's wedding in August to our former Summer Staff Lifeguard, Sam Tran!

The Annual Garage Sale is coming up. Help kids go to camp by bringing your extra stuff to Eastgate (114th and Stark) on Wednesday and Thursday, April 6 and 7. Come and find new treasures on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9. If you can help any of these days with setup, organizing, pricing, etc, Patti Elliot would greatly appreciate it. We also have a volunteer opportunity. We’re going to be connecting to our new septic system the week of February 21 (President’s Day). If you can join us in the trenches we’ll provide a hearty lunch. Contact the office if you can join us (503-630-4978).
We had a wonderful Annual Meeting where we looked back at lives impacted this summer, projects completed and projects for the future (including the new chapel), honored Mike & Sandy Rice and raised over $2,100 for a sound and video system for our new chapel. I am always humbled by God’s generosity through His people.
