Eagle Fern's Annual Meeting
January 30, 2010 | by Stuart

Eagle Fern’s Annual Meeting was tonight. We had a great turnout as people enjoyed the chance to hang out with friends and hear how things are going here. There was an update on last year’s finances and the projects we have underway. We just had a new well that installed near the shop that will pump far more water than our old pump and will allow us to easily accommodate our largest camps and even expand in the future.

We are pursuing a simple and inexpensive yet effective overhaul of the bunks in the cabins. We will be turning one stack of three bunks and adding two more to give every cabin twelve permanent bunks and eliminate the metal ones in the center of the floor. A crew led by Chad Smith already completed the overhaul of Cabin 41 and it looks great! Each cabin will cost about $250, and we would love it if groups like men’s Bible studies and church community groups each “sponsor” a cabin, raising money and working on the remodel. We could have this done very quickly if people step up! Please contact Milt if you're interested.

The new chapel has been put on hold temporarily due to the economic downturn. We're reviewing the design to see if we can save money and complete this much-anticipated and much-needed project.

The designer of the new logo was revealed! Faith Jossi Lichtenberg came up with a great concept that is reminiscent of the old logo with a modern feel and simple colors and lines, creating a versatile and enduring logo.

Our new website, as you’ve discovered, was also launched. It’s modern, clean, intuitive, and engaging design will provide a solid foundation for our internet presence. It’s still a work in progress as we add info and media to it, so please bear with us.
